House of DVF Review

The house of DVF took you into the world of  Diane von Furstenberg. DVF opens her doors to her empire her head office in New York to 13 aspiring women who want to make it in the world of fashion. They fight each other sometimes with class other times with grit and grime to become ambassador of this sensational brand. The last 3 girls who made it to the end all showed promise a competitive spirit and a great work ethic sometimes bring them close to go home.

Brittany Hampton, the winner of the show was a bit controversial many viewers the girls in the competition as well as DVF’s right hands Stefani and Jessica were not thrilled to have Brittany apart of the DVF family. However Diane saw her potential charisma and drive giving her a warning to only bring out her best self and leave the nasty Brittany at home. It was her experience style and drive that brought her to become the winner. We believe she will do DVF proud and become a fabulous representative of DVF so long as she checks her ego at the door.

Amanda Schauer second runner up in this competition to become Ambassador. I would say the under dog of the top three contestants however the most poised and the most sweet and kind of everyone in the competition. DVF felt though that she was a bit to soft spoken quiet and unexperienced to be a part of her empire. Diane showed great enthusiasm for Amanda and her future.

Kier Mellour the known “Bitch” of the group powered her way to the top three. She new backed down and always stood up for her self coming across as egocentric you could still see her passion and contentment in how much she wanted this position. Unfortunately through out the show you could see her emotions get the best of her which was to much evidence to her immaturity for Diane to be able to consider her to become apart of her empire.

It was such an inspiring show and a glimpse of the lives we would love to have.

DVF is such an incredible women and she proves this in her book, The Woman I Wanted to Be. It is a great read for any and all women who wish to see there full self come to fruition.

Alexander Wang x H&M

Being the first American to collaborate with H&M, Alexander Wang has brought a new flare to this multinational retail-clothing company. In this collection, he pushes the boundries and puts a new spin on what sportswear can be. Mr. Wang mixes his edginess into athletic wear, by proving that it is possible to use different materials to create a stylish and modern gym look.  His ideas are always evolving, influencing the fashionistas of our generation. We are very excited to how cool this event will turn out! For sure every girl will want to burn some calories dressed in Alexander Wang's gear. Be ready for November 6, when it launches in H&M worldwide. And if you're not able visit one of their stores, it will also be available online.

Project Runway Season 13 Finale

Being aspiring designers ourselves we love seeing anything that celebrates design and creativity. The show Project runway represents all of this. We have followed every season and were especially impressed with the last 4 designers of this season 13. Calling it from the beginning that Sean Kelly the clear winner. He had so many innovative yet still elegant and timeless designs almost always making a wow moment happen on the Runway. His collection was inspired and told a clear story from beginning to end although he did use a lot of fringe as to his now signature it looked so effortless and chic we would love to wear any and all of his pieces. We cant wait to see what he has to offer and what he does in the future. He shows that the american or any dream can come true moving to a new country and just going for it with nothing holding him back, only his confidence and expertise in his pocket.

Such a good finale episode the other collections were also amazing Amanda Valentine put on a great show with her one of a kind jewellery and long patterned dresses taking boho chic to the next level.

As for kini Zamora  one of our personal favourites also created a stunning collection but not as much as we hoped it would be although his pieces were constructed beautifully it just didn't have that X factor as some of his other pieces he had designed through out the season.
As for Char Glover we feel like there was no real story or theme to her collection and she is still just starting to find her voice in fashion.
We just cant wait  for the next season of Project Runway always inspiring us and making us work even harder to achieve our goals in fashion.

Oscar de la Renta (1932-2014)

Oscar de la Renta a fashion legend, an idol, a man that you can look up to and aspire to be even a third of who he was and what he created.. He was one of seven children born in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and created an empire out of nothing from humble beginnings. De la Renta designed haute couture in Paris and proved that with hard work, patience and a little luck you can achieve anything in life especially for aspiring fashion designers (like #twoshells!) He was known for his suave and for his elegant taste when dressing the most famous and distinguished women in society. Always the optimist, he will truly be missed.
But his legend lives on in the impact he made for fashion history.

Julia Roberts for Calzedonia

Her smile is renowned world wide, her beauty is timeless and her elegance is captivating. Now the new face of Calzedonia, a hosiery and beach wear company. Originating in Verona, it began as a small store and is now known throughout Europe with over 1700 locations. Now making an even bigger splash with the support of an icon, Julia Roberts. This gives such a boost for an Italian made company and shines a new light on what Italy can do for fashion. This commercial is stunning with Julia Roberts running around Europe and going to only the most fabulous places. Advertising their products in the most tasteful way. Not to mention their hosiery is killer and they give you such a wide variety to choose from within your budget. Definitely a #twoshells go-to for the A/W season.

Part 2: After School Retreat

Can you imagine that this is our view on our drive to and from school, so much inspiration and beauty that surrounds us every single day.
We are two very lucky Canadian girls being able to embrace this beautiful town.
Giving us the perfect back drop for fun photo shoots like this one just because we can.
All black and gold everything as we let the baroque City of Modica do all the talking.
