#twoshells in the 6ix

This is our first time together in Toronto. It was very special for us to be able to unite in our homeland. Situated in the intersection of queen and spadina, the heart of Toronto and the city's fashion district we engaged ourselves to a mini photo shoot. Chilly as a December afternoon could be in downtown Toronto, Nicola managed to pull off her 3 inch black booties with her trendy half and half houndstooth patterned/ black skinnys that she made back in bella Sicilia, and to keep the look stylish instead of wearing an oversized jacket that may cover her intended look, Nicola decided to layer sweaters together keeping her overall outfit intact. 

Toronto is a very creative and imaginative city, we as Torontonians embrace our muliti cultural and innovative artists. Therefore, we decided to walk around the back alleys of queen and spadina showing you the beautiful art display our city has to offer. Bold colours and interesting creatures are portrayed on the walls making us wonder the stories behind them. Stephanie kept her look cool, by throwing a pair of dark denim adding a black dress shirt and combining it with a navy laced top, putting her favourite leather jacket, to finish it off she accessorized by adding a circle faux fur scarf to block out the harsh winds.

Although, we didn't have enough time together we surely enjoyed our day spent in our city. The next time we're back in Toronto, we hope that it will be much warmer so we can display our amazing outfits and really show our amazing city.

The Fashion Fund Review

The fashion fund is an incredible reality TV show and a dream to anyone in the Fashion industry in America. Having Anna Wintour as the helm of the show with a jury of CFDA members and leaders who chose the top 10 designers in America of the moment to compete for $300,000 dollars and a one year mentorship with the beiggest names in American fashion. A dream to all and what an amazing show to be inspired and influenced by that no matter what your beginnings are with a good idea determination and a little or with a lot of luck a lot of money you can succeed in creating your own name and empire in the American and then soon to be world of fashion .

The winner Paul andrew of Paul Andrews designs a stiletto shoe designer originally for England was announced as winner it was quite a shock to the viewrs and other contestants. Definetly the black sheep of the group with his cold and distant almost cockish personality overshadowing his fabulous and feminine designs. Having already built a 3 million dollar company creating shoes for designers such as Vera Wang and other well known designers for there collection you almost felt him already established and in no need of the fashion fund. However is designs and emphasis in quality and comfort put him as a front runner for the competition resulting in a great win.

Second runner up and I am sure a favourite to many was jewellery designer Eva Zuckerman for Eva Fehren. With her very unique and industrial designs making her name in the fashion and accessory world as unique and one oof a kind taking her New york roots as inpiration for her architectual designs. She shined in the contest with her different take on all the different takes on the compeition knowing her brand and making her vision clear with her bright and relateable personality. Although she didn’t win she came out on top with the support of viewers her fellow contestants and the support of the amazing Judges sitting on the board of CFDA.

Third runner up the down to earth soft spoken fantastic Ryan Roche of Ryan’s Design. Was a favourite from the beginning with her humble beginnings not leaving her family and home to the big apple. She kept her designs pure organic and natural not altering anything throughout the compeition and always staying true to her vision and brand. Her designs simple but ever so soft and comfortable and her can do will do attitude brought her on top of the competition and still a winner.

A show that inspires us to keep designing and fighting for our own visions to come true.

The 2015 Golden Globes

The Golden Globes has a wonderful old Hollywood flare to it truly just honouring the best actors movies and cinema of the year. You just feel apart of the event when you watch it, sipping a glass of moet beside your bestie Jennifer Anniston or you husband Matthew Mcconaughey. The Stars definitely came to impress this year with beautiful lemoncello coloured dresses as well of lots of sparkle glitz and glam. 

Our favourite look of the evening I would have to say was Emma Stone in a classic Lanvin Jumpsuit. 

A perfect modern feminine take on a pant suit. Perfectly styled with hair and makeup making her a timeless beauty. 

Everyone was raving about Jennifer Lopez's Zuhair Murad dress. Very sexy very va-va-voom.  Not sure on how we feel entirely about this dress it is very queen of the red carpet but maybe a little to much skin in general. However if anyone can rock out this dress it would be Jennifer Lopez! 

On the worst dressed list sky rocketing to number one would have to be and so unfortunate to say it is but the beautiful and very talented Kiera Knightley in this Chanel number. It looks like she went to into a wild butterfly conservatory in a peasant gown and came out wearing the butterflies. 

Cant wait to see what the Grammy's will bring to the Red Carpet

Peoples Choice Award; Best and Worst Dressed

The peoples choice awards fun and entertaining as always and a great start to the award winning season. Our favourite of the night was Portia de Rossi in Zuhair Murad, a very sexy designer who brings sex appeal and class together in one great look.

Another one that made the top lists and not for the first time was Sarah Hyland in Cristian Siriano. Cristian Siriano is just popping up all over the red carpet with his young and fresh designs new over powering the actress and always bring out there best features.

However, another Cristian Siriano look did make it to our least favourite look of the evening. He just missed the mark on this one a great outfit just not appropriate or proportional for the fabulous hip hop artist Iggy Azalea.  We can not wait for this upcoming awards season so stay tuned for more red carpets reviews for #twoshells

House of DVF Review

The house of DVF took you into the world of  Diane von Furstenberg. DVF opens her doors to her empire her head office in New York to 13 aspiring women who want to make it in the world of fashion. They fight each other sometimes with class other times with grit and grime to become ambassador of this sensational brand. The last 3 girls who made it to the end all showed promise a competitive spirit and a great work ethic sometimes bring them close to go home.

Brittany Hampton, the winner of the show was a bit controversial many viewers the girls in the competition as well as DVF’s right hands Stefani and Jessica were not thrilled to have Brittany apart of the DVF family. However Diane saw her potential charisma and drive giving her a warning to only bring out her best self and leave the nasty Brittany at home. It was her experience style and drive that brought her to become the winner. We believe she will do DVF proud and become a fabulous representative of DVF so long as she checks her ego at the door.

Amanda Schauer second runner up in this competition to become Ambassador. I would say the under dog of the top three contestants however the most poised and the most sweet and kind of everyone in the competition. DVF felt though that she was a bit to soft spoken quiet and unexperienced to be a part of her empire. Diane showed great enthusiasm for Amanda and her future.

 

Kier Mellour the known “Bitch” of the group powered her way to the top three. She new backed down and always stood up for her self coming across as egocentric you could still see her passion and contentment in how much she wanted this position. Unfortunately through out the show you could see her emotions get the best of her which was to much evidence to her immaturity for Diane to be able to consider her to become apart of her empire. 

It was such an inspiring show and a glimpse of the lives we would love to have.

DVF is such an incredible women and she proves this in her book, The Woman I Wanted to Be. It is a great read for any and all women who wish to see there full self come to fruition.

Positano

Positano Picture perfect something right out of a movie. Its one of those places where you have to see it to believe it. Now being back in toronto nestled on the couch with a hot cup of tea watching the snow fall there is nothing better to do then go back through pictures of those hot summer days when you were on vacation and all you cared about was soaking up the sun and enjoying the fresh sea air. That is exactly what took me to this magical place. It was a hot day in early september. We made the drive along the amalfi coast in our fiat 500 sun roof down wind in my air. I decided to go for a teal blue wrap dress something elegant light and fun. With a sparkly teared necklace and my round old fashioned sunglasses. It was the perfect attire for a day like this. To enjoy a lovely lunch on a cliff looking down on Positano and the waterfront. Nothing could have been more perfect or romantic.

Victoria Secret Fashion show London 2014

Well its that time of year again where every women gets inspired to dress sexy and get in shape, as they watch the Victoria Secret Fashion Show. This years Show was filled with amazing couture wings fabulous lingerie and beautiful angels. Not to mention the artists they chose this year were right on point to match every theme. I would have to say my favourite moment was the Fairy tale theme I just found it to be so magical and yet at the same time dark and mysterious. Accompanied by Hozier who sang Take me to the church who took it to a very powerful place.

The only thing I would have to say is that this year more then others there was a greater focus on backstage happenings and the Angels personal stories and lives rather then the lingerie itself. It all went by too quickly you just want it to go on at least another hour so you can fully appreciate the Angels, the lingerie and the music. Just so much fabulousness to take in at once.
