The iconic white dress

The first thing a girl thinks of when planning  her wedding is the man she is going to marry followed closely by the thought of that iconic dress. That dress that promises happiness, love and beauty. The dress you wear as you start the rest of your life. Well that moment is mine now. I  have found the man of my dreams, now it's time to find the dress to match! I have decided to design my own dress and have my teacher, a of master of her craft, create it. I thought I would start by drawing some inspiration from my favourite Bridal designers Berta Bridal from Israel and Sophia Tolli from Australia. Both create stunning and elegant bridal gowns.  My dream wedding gown is top to bottom lace, off the shoulder long sleeve, form fitting with a long train.

Oscar de la Renta (1932-2014)

Oscar de la Renta a fashion legend, an idol, a man that you can look up to and aspire to be even a third of who he was and what he created.. He was one of seven children born in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and created an empire out of nothing from humble beginnings. De la Renta designed haute couture in Paris and proved that with hard work, patience and a little luck you can achieve anything in life especially for aspiring fashion designers (like #twoshells!) He was known for his suave and for his elegant taste when dressing the most famous and distinguished women in society. Always the optimist, he will truly be missed.
But his legend lives on in the impact he made for fashion history.

Part 2: After School Retreat

Can you imagine that this is our view on our drive to and from school, so much inspiration and beauty that surrounds us every single day.
We are two very lucky Canadian girls being able to embrace this beautiful town.
Giving us the perfect back drop for fun photo shoots like this one just because we can.
All black and gold everything as we let the baroque City of Modica do all the talking.

Fall Inspirations

For this fall season we are very inspired by the hard and soft  trend that is very popular at the moment. Were loving the gold and black looks inspired by Gucci. They do a fabulous job of putting together black leather with gold details. We think it makes for a very classy chic look. With an outfit  like this can only make you feel one way and that is powerful.

We are also fans of the large oversized sweaters paired with tight leggings leather skirts or tight fitted  jeans. This is everything we need as we get ready for another harsh Canadian winter and a not so cold sicilian one making it perfect for layering or wearing as is. Another inspiration of ours for this fall is Burberry who's collection is so warm cozy and elegant. We love the layered looks and use of beautifully coloured scarves and capes. We love that we are now not restricted to wear the classic black and darker colours for fall and winter but instead we can throw in these beautiful shades of blues and mix and match prints.
Fall is definitely a beautiful time for fashion.

Giambattista Valli | Spring Summer 2015 Full Fashion Show

Paris fashion week was filled with beautiful and exciting collections and Giambattista Valli's spring summer runway for 2015 had to be one of our favourites. It combined all of our must haves for this upcoming spring/summer season the soft colours, the floral prints, embroidery and linear but soft lines. All the pieces were feminine elegant and classic with a modern flare. We can just picture our selves strutting down the cobble stone walk ways of Taormina while stopping at a cafe over looking the beautiful Mediterranean sea as we sip wine in one of these enchanting ensembles. Very inspiring and something to look forward to as we vastly approach this upcoming winter.

Delpozo

These past fashion week's were filled with delightful surprises. This collection from Delpozo was a breath of fresh air with its whimsical colours and design. Like a flower blooming in spring to the sun shining in the summer. We loved the use of shapes and the architecture to which they construct there garments.Everything was lovely and put together except the last 2 dresses which we felt to be out of place in this collection almost as to a preview into what should be there fall collection. However Delpozo was definitely a rememberable show in this years spring/summer fashion week of 2015.  Here are some of our favourite pieces....
